BOILED CLAY LAMP

While experimenting with clay, I baked it at a higher temperature than needed. As a result, I got boiled clay. Its texture and light weight intrigued me. I figured out the way to make a product, namely a lamp, out of it. I thought this material was the most suitable for this purpose because light greatly emphasises its texture while its weight allows suspension.

Separation of boiled clay from other materials such as sand and plaster was problematic, since it would stick to most of them while the others would melt themselves. I solved it by using aluminium. I made a desired shape out of it, placed a piece of clay on top, and let clay flow downwards.
